FAQ
We aim to provide clear and transparent information about our services. Below are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
It sounds too good to be true - is this a scam?
These days it is perfectly normal to suspect good news from unknown sources. With the proliferation of financial crime and fraud over the internet, you have a legitimate concern. Luckily it is possible (and even recommended) for you to verify the existence of surplus funds with the county clerk office before you do anything. Our representatives can assist you with the relevant contact information, site links, case numbers, and details for you to independently check and verify everything we have told you before you commit to anything with us.
Don't I need an attorney to claim these funds?
You could use an attorney, but it is not legally required at all. In some cases, we do engage with attorneys for certain supplementary actions which are needed in order to satisfy the county that the claim is valid and can be paid out. Each case is unique, and we plan and program each claim process accordingly.
How did you find me?
Our expert Claimant Tracing Department makes use of public information searches and modern tracing techniques to find and double-check potential claimants. We further verify this with potential heirs or beneficiaries when we engage with them to minimize the chance of us dealing with the incorrect people.
Our outreach actions enable us to communicate out to potential claimants and/or their family and known associates in an effort to get the chance to have a conversation with them to let them know about a possible surplus claim.
To do this, we find, capture, and use public records of phone numbers, email addresses and real world addresses to trace claimants.
It is likely that you were reached as a result of one or more of these actions. This does NOT mean that you are a claimant. It may mean that you are believed to be connected to a Claimant in some way, and we would like to speak with you to verify the data we have, hopefully leading to a claim for someone.
Can't I claim the funds on my own?
Yes, in fact, we are bound to inform you that you have the right to do so yourself. However, our experience is that the requirements for a successful claim are often quite substantial, and claims that are incomplete or incorrect cause unnecessary delays and impede the payment of the claim. We offer professional services to properly and professionally prepare, submit, and track each claim application to the point of successful payout. Remember, we get nothing if we don't get the claim paid out - so we are motivated to succeed.
How long does it take?
Because each case is unique, it is impossible to say how long it takes to have the claim paid out. The average time is 2-3 months. However, if the conditions are optimal, and the claim uncomplicated, this could be greatly reduced, and claims processed and paid in as little as 1 week are not unheard of. This is not the norm, and these averages cannot be used as a promise of time frame. Your consultant will keep you informed as to the progress of your claim every step of the way.
What happens if the Claim is not paid?
We will certainly do everything in our power to endeavor to get a claim paid out, however, there are cases where the requirements are not able to be satisfied due to issues with documents, missing or conflicting information, or competing claims that are not able to be resolved, and a number of other issues.
In the unlikely event that we determine the claim cannot be paid for some reason, we will notify you of this, and excuse ourselves from the claim process at the county.
Because our services are entirely contingent on us getting the claim paid, there is NEVER any cost to you for our services.
If you choose to pursue the claim after we have excused ourselves, you are well within your rights to do so.
